Military Medical Personnel Program
Eligible military medical personnel (MMP) may temporarily perform certain skilled health services that otherwise would require a license while supervised in an administering facility without first obtaining one of the following licenses from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS): Anesthesiologist Assistant; Licensed Practical Nurse; Perfusionist; Physician; Physician Assistant; Podiatrist; Registered Nurse; or Respiratory Care Practitioner.

Fee Assistance
Veterans Fee Waiver Program
Per Wis. Stat. Sec. 45.44 under this Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) program, one initial license fee waiver will be allowed per qualified veteran. The waiver applies to credentials that are issued to individuals; it does not apply to renewal or exam fees.
An applicant must:
Be a Wisconsin resident applying for an initial credential
Not be a recipient of a previous fee waiver under the program for any type of credential
Be a veteran, as defined in Wis. Stat. Sec. 45.01 (12) (a) to (f), or one of the following:
A member of a reserve component of the U.S. armed forces or of the national guard, as defined in 32 USC 101 (3), who has served under honorable conditions for at least one year beginning on the member's date of enlistment in a reserve component of the U.S. armed forces or in the national guard.
A person who was discharged from a reserve component of the U.S. armed forces or from the national guard, as defined in 32 USC 101 (3) if that discharge was an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions.
Reduced Fee for Certain Credentials
Per Wis. Stat. Sec. 45.44(3m) an applicant who is applying for an initial credential specified under Wis. Stat. chs. 440-480, who has received a previous fee waiver under the Veterans Fee Waiver Program, but who is otherwise eligible for a fee waiver under the program, shall pay a fee for the credential that is equal to 10 percent of the standard fee for that credential.
Credential Fee Reduction
Per Wis. Stat. Sec. 440.052 available to all applicants, notwithstanding chs. 440 to 480, an individual applying for an initial credential or for an initial reciprocal credential shall pay a fee for the credential that is equal to 10 percent of the standard fee for that credential if the family income of the individual does not exceed 180 percent of the federal poverty line established under 42 USC 9902 (2). Military Service Education, Training, Instruction, or Other Experience
Per Wis. Stat. Sec. 440.075, an applicant’s military service Wis. Stat. Sec. 111.32 (12g) education, training, instruction, or other experience related to a profession can be evaluated for possible equivalency to credential requirements. If, upon review, substantial equivalency is demonstrated the military education, training, instruction, or other experience related to a profession will be used to satisfy applicable initial credential requirements.

Reciprocity Information
Other Jurisdiction
Per Wis. Stat. Sec. 440.09, service members, former service members, and spouses credentialed in another jurisdiction may apply for a reciprocal credential. Please see the information on Page i of Form 3982 below for further information.
Renewal
Per Wis. Stat. Sec. 321.60, a credential held by a service member does not expire on the expiration date of the license if, on the expiration date, the service member is on active duty. A license extended under Wis. Stat. § 321.60(2) expires 180 days after the service member is discharged from active duty. Wis. Stat. § 321.60(2m) makes a similar provision for service member spouses. Continuing education requirements may be extended.
