If you are logged into your account, but there is no renew button:
Using a phone? Turn your phone sideways (landscape view) to see the Renew button on
The right side of the screen.
Is there a note or hold on your license? Your license may have a hold that prevents renewal. Read the note displayed with your license and follow the instructions provided.
There are several possible reasons your license may not appear in your LicensE account:
Your renewal window is not open.
If you are trying to renew, your renewal application becomes available approximately 6 weeks before your license expires.
You may be logged in to the wrong LicensE account.
If you have more than one credential or account, such as an individual license and an organization license, make sure you are using the correct username and are logged in to the account associated with the license you are trying to access.
Your license may be associated with a duplicate LicensE account.
If you previously created more than one LicensE account, your license may be associated with a different account.
To have us help locate your license, submit a support ticket by selecting Request Support. Include:
Your license number
Date of birth
Last four digits of your Social Security number
The email address you would like associated with your account
For organization accounts, provide the last four digits of the FEIN instead of a Social Security number.
We will use this information to verify your identity and help determine which account your license is associated with.
Your license may be in the legacy system.

There are a few reasons why your license may not be showing up on your account.
Your renewal window is not currently open. Renewals open about 6 weeks prior to your license expiring.

You may have created a duplicate account, and your license is on another account.
Please submit a support ticket with your license number, date of birth, last four digits of your social security number, and email you would like on file.
For organization accounts, we need the last four digits of the FEIN.
Once we have your verifying information, we can check and better assist you.
For Health and Business professionals: If your license has expired over 5 years, it is currently in our legacy system. To renew your license, you will need to select “Apply for a license”, select the category and license type, and you will find the “Renewal After 5 Years” application. Once the renewal is complete, your license will migrate to LicensE.
NOTE: Tattooist – If your license expired over 5 years ago and you want to renew, please submit a support ticket by selecting “Request Support” on license.wi.gov
While your renewal is being processed your credential is still considered valid and active within the state of Wisconsin and without lapse since the last renewal. This is per Wisconsin State Statute 227.51(2). If you have submitted your renewal application and completed the associated fee payment by the final day of the renewal period, your license will remain valid until an adjudication has been made.
Your license status may change once a final decision is made. If your license is approved, your active status continues without any lapse. If it is denied, the active status ends on the date of the adjudication.
You can see that your credential is still valid and when an adjudication has been made by using the LicensE "License Lookup at https://license.wi.gov/s/license-lookup. Under “Search By” select “Credential/ License Number” enter your credential number, and then select “search. “You will see that while your credential is listed as “expired” that status will be listed as “License is current (Active).”
